The 50 Best Hotels 2026 was recently announced, honoring Mandarin Oriental Qianmen, Beijing, designed by CCD, at No. 7 worldwide.

In 2025, the hotel made its debut on the global stage at No. 14, marking the first time a property from Chinese Mainland entered the prestigious list. Advancing to No. 7 this year alongside Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok at No. 10, the brand now proudly holds two positions among the world's top ten hotels.

From the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok to the historic Qianmen district in Beijing, Mandarin Oriental shapes deeply local destination narratives. In Beijing, CCD embedded the brand's quiet luxury, intimacy, and refined hospitality directly into the city's historic cultural context.

Engaging with the 600-year legacy of the Caochang Hutongs, CCD employed a restrained, preservation-first approach. The design preserves the classic Hutong grain and courtyard spatial structure, allowing original trees, grey roof tiles, and exposed wooden beams to seamlessly harmonize with contemporary living.
