New Territory, The World Presents | CCD Beijing Office Unveiled In A Renewed Chapter

May 30, 2026

CCD has officially unveiled its newly refreshed Beijing office at Sanlitun SOHO, a location situated at the intersection of the city's diplomatic, cultural, and contemporary urban energies. Surrounded by the Second Embassy District, Taikoo Li Sanlitun, and the Workers' Stadium precinct, the office occupies one of Beijing's most internationally connected and culturally dynamic neighborhoods.

"Beijing remains one of the most concentrated expressions of Chinese cultural order and Eastern spirit, while also serving as one of the world's most important gateways to understanding China," said Joe Cheng, Founder of CCD. "The Beijing office will become CCD's global cultural hub — a platform for our ongoing exploration into the relationship between traditional spatial philosophy, contemporary lifestyles, and the international hospitality context. While rooted in Eastern culture, we continue to respond to evolving global aesthetics and the spirit of the times."

To mark the opening, CCD hosted a global design dialogue titled New Territory | The World Presents at Mandarin Oriental Qianmen, Beijing. The event traced a symbolic journey from Sanlitun's contemporary international urbanism to the 600-year-old hutong fabric of Caochang in Qianmen — one of Beijing's best-preserved historic neighborhoods. Against the complex backdrop of historic urban renewal and contemporary luxury hospitality, CCD approached the project through a philosophy of "preserving the old as old," allowing traditional siheyuan typologies, hutong spatial order, and modern hospitality experiences to coexist with quiet authenticity.

Looking ahead, the Beijing office will further strengthen collaborations with international cultural institutions, art academies, and global design platforms through a series of academic forums, design salons, and cross-cultural initiatives. More than simply another office within CCD's global network, the Beijing office is envisioned as a cultural point of origin — a place from which new dialogues around Chinese design, cultural confidence, and international expression can continue to emerge.
