CCD BEIJING
Minimalist Eastern aesthetics conversing with global SOHO.

Newly refreshed at Sanlitun SOHO, the CCD Beijing office draws upon the spatial order of Beijing's traditional hutong courtyards and the Eastern philosophy of "leaving blank" (white space). It seamlessly blends the old city's restraint and tranquility with the youthful, international spirit of Sanlitun, curating entirely new possibilities for design.

"HUTONGS ARE NOT MERELY OBSOLETE RELICS LEFT BEHIND BY TIME, BUT RATHER A PROFOUND SPATIAL WISDOM THAT BEIJING HAS INSCRIBED INTO THE CITY. AS PEOPLE WANDER, LINGER, AND CROSS PATHS WITHIN THEM, THEY EXPERIENCE THE UNDERSTATED, INTIMATE, AND DEEPLY WARM ORDER INHERENT IN EASTERN LIFE."

A CURATED ARTISTIC REALM
/ LIFT LOBBY & RECEPTION AREA & LOUNGE /
Stepping in from the lift lobby, dark woodwork and beige-grey walls establish a composed prologue to the space. The lounge distills the essence of "gathering" intrinsic to traditional courtyard homes (siheyuan). Modular sofas encircle a modern fireplace, forging a spatial focal point within a dark, quiet-luxury aesthetic.

Artist Li Hongwei's sculpture, Allegory of Balance, facilitates a trans-era dialogue between rigid stainless steel and fragile porcelain. Here, art is no longer placed on a pedestal; instead, it seamlessly integrates into contemporary life with an approachable, everyday elegance.
CONTRAST AND SYMBIOSIS IN DESIGN
/ MEETING ROOM /

The open meeting room embraces a "separated yet connected" design, fluidly shifting between a boundaryless lounge and a inspired space while maintaining absolute visual and luminous transparency. Dynamic artwork and rustic abstract sculptures break the spatial restraint, symbolizing the symbiosis of tradition and the future in design.

"RESTRAINT AND ORDER"
/ DISPLAY KITCHEN & SMART MATERIAL LIBRARY /
In the display kitchen, open cabinets transcend mere storage. Adopting a 'curatorial' approach, they showcase glassware, tableware, ingredients, and everyday lifestyle objects. The interplay of orderly arrangements, warm interior lighting, and dark wood grain elevates ordinary items, endowing them with the visual value of exhibition pieces.

Meanwhile, the materials library archives meticulously selected global material samples within a pristine, structured order, serving as the starting point for design thinking.
